X/2958. Victorian Army L.S. & G.C. 2nd issue, large letter reverse 2995. SERGT. WM. MCEVOY, 28th REGT. 15th May 1857. impressed naming, fitted with scroll suspension. William McEvoy, born Killyman, Dungannon, Tyrone, Ireland, attested 64th Regt. 1838 transfers 28th Regt. 1849, served Jamaica, NORTH AMERICA, Malta & East Indies, discharged 1860. Copy Discharge Papers. Nice early date, not often put officially on medals, presume related to McEvoy, (Crimean D.C.M.) 28th Glouc. Regt. G.V.F.ON HOLD

X/3130. A prize medal to Major C.F. BATTYE. 1st BN. THE QUEEN'S ROYAL WEST KENT REGt. OFFICERS V SERGEANTS. 1935. Awarded M.C. Lon. Gaz. 26.8.1918 for MESOPOTAMIA. Capt. Charles Forbes Battye, WEST KENT REGT. E.F. ON HOLD

X/2915. Scarce named group with a confirmed 1977 Jubilee to an INSPECTOR, AVON & SOMERSET POLICE.
W.W.2. Africa Star, Defence & War Medal, 1977 Silver Jubilee (these unnamed) EIIR Police L.S.G.C. SERGT. BERNARD W.F. WEEKS. Inspector Bernard William Frederick Weeks served with the R.A.F. in W.W.2. 1941-1946, joined Avon & Somerset Constabulary 1947 & retired 3.3.1979 having served with them for over 31 years. This detail on original retiring Certificate included with the medals. Copy 1977 Jubilee Roll showing awarded as INSPECTOR, AVON & SOMERSET POLICE. Mounted on board with 'staybrite' EIIR Avon & Somerset Constabulary cap badge. Very scarce Jubilee group as few issued compared with other Jubilee's or Coronations (62 Coronations awarded to unit in 1953, 1977 number not known, but approx 10 in comparison)  I presume he did 25 years with the Somerset Police & 5 years after the amalgamation of the two Forces in 1974.
